Pugal Varathan, a 3-month-old baby boy from Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, India, required specialised treatment for a congenital heart condition and underwent Coarctation Repair.

In 2019, Pugal received specialised cardiac treatment at AIMS, Cochin. Coarctation repair is performed to correct a narrowing in the aorta, the major artery that carries blood from the heart to the rest of the body, helping restore healthier blood flow and reduce strain on the heart.
