At just 5 days old, Baby of Shabana, a newborn girl from Wayanad, Kerala, needed specialised cardiac care at the very beginning of her life.

In 2025, she underwent BPV (Balloon Pulmonary Valvuloplasty) at AIMS, Cochin. This catheter-based procedure is used to improve blood flow through a narrowed pulmonary valve and can be especially important when treatment is required soon after birth.
