Baby of Lakshmi, a 15-day-old newborn girl from Ambasamudram, Tamil Nadu, India, required urgent treatment for a congenital heart condition and underwent TAPVC (Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection) Repair.

In 2021, the baby received specialised cardiac treatment at AIMS, Cochin. TAPVC repair is performed to correct abnormal connections of the pulmonary veins so that oxygen-rich blood from the lungs can return to the heart through the proper pathway and support healthier circulation.
